Strategic Roadmap and Technology Planning Process
Global Talent Agency

Our team created and implemented a strategic planning process for a global talent agency that enabled the Technology department to inventory the company’s technology needs, prioritize the corresponding initiatives according to value criteria, and organize them into a multi-year roadmap.

This involved gathering needs in each of the business units (Sports, Touring, and Content), selecting and implementing a technology solution (Microsoft Azure DevOps) to host the information, conducting workshops to prioritize the demand, defining the budget for the upcoming year, and designing and rolling out the process going forward. At project end, the client had a clearly articulated technology roadmap and a well-defined strategic planning and technology portfolio management process.

Digital Distribution Program Management
Major Studio

Our team managed a portfolio of Intellectual Property Management related initiatives for the Digital Distribution division of a major studio.

We first led the definition of the technology strategic roadmap for the next three years. We then managed the subsequent global projects defined in the roadmap.  This involved the enhancement of the products and rights system, the roll out of a licensee usage data/royalty statement ingestion and validation tool integrated with the SAP OTC/financial system and the data warehouse/management reporting system.

Settlement System and Shared Service Implementation
Major Event Ticketing Company

Our team implemented a settlement calculation and payment system for a major event ticketing company, and created a contract management/settlement shared service for the US.

We first conducted an assessment of the as-is finance organization and formulated a transformation plan, which consisted in an ERP implementation and consolidation into a single department. Our team defined the new financial/settlement system’s requirements and conceptual design. We then conducted a software selection (vendor short list, complex demo scripts and demo reviews), identified the best solution, and proposed an implementation plan.

Upon project greenlight, our team conducted the design and implementation of the system, organization and processes within the West region, followed by the rollout in the rest of the US and the consolidation into the shared service.

Enterprise Title/Product Master (MDM) and Rights Management System
Global Television Broadcaster

Our team assisted a global television broadcaster in evaluating and selecting software packages to support their enterprise master data management (MDM) and rights management functions. The solution was going to support six major organizational areas, including: corporate rights, business affairs, digital, international licensing, production, and finance. Our team worked with business and IT representatives in each area to capture and rationalize requirements, standardize data and processes and centralize key common functions (e.g., title registry, rights-in, and contract workflow).

We successfully led the implementation of the selected packages, which included configuration, data and process modeling, data conversion, testing, and training by our team. The solution provided for the first time, true enterprise title reporting, global availability validation, cross-organizational deals creation and workflow management. In addition, it increased sales opportunities and speed to market, while reducing support costs.

Enterprise Standards: Title and Rights
Large Public Broadcaster

Our team assisted a major public broadcasting company in defining their enterprise title and product master. As an industry partner to the Entertainment Identifier Registry Association (EIDR.ORG) WaveSeven has unique understanding and experience that we leveraged to help our client develop internal standards and solutions in compliance with EIDR and MovieLabs standards. The scope of this standardization extended from the enterprise property (e.g., Franchise/Brand/) down to the operational level (e.g., digital manifest/object).

The client also requested our assistance in further rationalizing and creating global standards for rights-in and rights-out (e.g., “Rights Tree” hierarchies). This required us to work with both their non-profit and commercial licensing organizations to find common language and usage that could support the variety of products and deal structures they employ.

Digital Supply Chain
Major Studio – TV Division

We provided a team of industry specialists to assist a major studio in developing a three-year plan to extensively overhaul and replace the client’s aging systems and meet digital distribution and other new business requirements. We continued to partner with our client throughout this multi-year project designing and implementing these changes, adapting the plan and priorities as new business needs arose. The scope of this initiative covered the full spectrum of the television distribution value chain, from the upfront acquisition and licensing of content to collection and recognition of revenue and support for revenue share payments.

This is an excellent example of WaveSeven’s unique ability to bring strong industry experience and capability to help “amplify” a client’s internal capability. Our team members integrated themselves into the organization working long hours for long periods of time to help this client meet critical deadlines.
